Simple present is a form of the verb that refers to an action or event that is regularly takes place in present time.
The Present Simple
For regular habits or daily routine:
He puts the hammer on the table every day.
He does not put the hammer on the table every day.
Does he put the hammer on the table every day?
Yes, he does. No, he does not.
The Present Simple
For facts:
A saw cuts wood. A saw does not cut wood. Does a saw cut wood?
Yes, it does. No, it does not.

With non- action verbs: Those are nuts. Those are not nuts. Are those nuts?
Yes, they are. No, they are not.
