Planting Magic BeansObservation of our lima bean projectBy: Jadon, Akira and Azul
History of the Lima Bean Lima beans, with their large starchy seeds, have
been traced back to about 2000 B.C. Peruvian capital, Lima, gave the beans their name
even though they are pronounced differently in the United States
Lima beans, like most beans, can be dried and stored for long periods of time, making them ideal for use on explorer's ships in the 1500s and easily sent overseas.
.
Our Observation Day 1: Our group planted the lima bean.
The seeds were planted.
Our observation Day 2-6: We observed the water
evaporating on the side of the cups.
Our Observation Day 7: The roots began to form on our
plant and saw a little plant.
Our Observation Day 10: The plant started to sprout.
Our Observation Day 12: The plant grow a little taller.
Our Observation Day 15: We had a tall bean stalk.
Our Predictions for the Lima Bean We predict that the beanstalk will go
taller and lima beans will begin to grow.
