Fragments

A group of words that is not grammatically complete. It could be a subordinate/dependent

clause with no main clause. It could be either missing a subject or a

predicate. Subject: the doer of the action or the one in the

state of being. Predicate: the verb or the verb phrase that tells

something about the subject.

1. Write “c/b <your name>”2. Circle all noun and pronouns.3. Underline all the verbs.4. Highlight any of the circled words that

are a subject.5. Bracket and Label any sentence as

“Fragment” that is missing a circled highlighted word or an underlined word.

6. If the sentence is beginning with a subordinating clause and has no main clause attached to it, bracket and label as a fragment.
