What is the teacher’s role?Perhaps the one of the most vital issuessurrounding technology in education is the role of the teacher. He or she is in charge of making the lessons that integrate technology into today’s modern classroom, and making it accessible to all children.

What is the role of the administrator?According to a technology article by Linda Starr (2009), Education World Tech Team, www.EducationWorld.com, Patrick Greene, professor of education at Florida Gulf Coast University, states, “Providing opportunities for staff development is an important part of the administrator's role…”.

In addition, it is important that administrators “model the routine, intentional, and effective use of technology” (The Collaborative for Technology Standards for School Administrators, 2001, p.6). If administrators provide professional development opportunities, but do not exhibit their own understanding and usage of technology, how can they expect their teachers to do the same?
