Cost Trend For Touch Technology

Source from AUO

Note:1.AUO expect the size limitation of productive PCT is around 20”

2.The cost trend of CMOS’10 could be met if non-glass TPM is ready.

Technology Competition Analysis

•IP Owner: Xiroku; Smart Technology

•Solution Provider:•MCU & Sensor

•Xiroku + SOI

•Pixart (Licenced by Smart Technology)

•Panavision

•Optical Touch Module•Liteon/MP schedule is around 2010/06 (Xiroku)

•Quanta/MP for 6 months (Pixart)

•Nextwindow/MP for 2 years (Panavision; IP lawsuit with Smart Technology )

•Lumio/MP schedule is around 2010/09 (Panavision)

•Noise:•SoniX, Liteon-Semi………

•Competitive Technology:•Projective Capacity (PCT)

•Dominate 3.5”~10” touch market even though the yield rate isn’t good enough

in 10” currently.

Market Segment

Note: 1.The competitor in 15”~18” NB application is “Projective Capacity Technology”.

2.The winner who gains the bigger share in 15”~18” is depended on the cost.

3.For 12”~14” NB application, it’s the same as 15”~18” but we should develop

the 1.5mm solution non-glass TPM.
