NHS R-ITI - Introduction

• Royal College of Radiologists, the Department of Health and the NHS (UK National Health Service)

• Innovative ways to improve the training of junior radiologists in the UK health system

• The current radiology training infrastructure in the UK cannot support a large and rapid increase in the number of trainees

• Need to engage over 350 subject matter experts throughout the UK and abroad

NHS R-ITI – Goals

• To reduce radiology based diagnosis time from the current 2 years to 14 weeks

• Increase rapidly number of radiologists in practice

• To use digital approach to provide increased number of radiologists without stressing the existing training infrastructure

• To set up a virtual network for massive and rapid learning content production and indexing in order tocut production costs and time
