Part 1: Research Master = graduate course work + RM thesis

2 years

• Two years for people with relevant BSc/MSc degree

(in Business side-inflow possible for people with relevant MSc degree)

• Leads to Research Master MSc

Part 2: PhD program = academic research + PhD thesis

3 years

• for students who performed well in their RM and found a topic and a supervisor

• Prerequisite for starting a PhD (in a regular position)

RM graduates usually start a PhD in Tilburg or elsewhere

Most of the PhD graduates continue in academics and are hired by universities

Others go to national and international research institutions, banks, ministries, etc. (IMF, WHO, European Commission, DNB, CPB, …)

One of the aims of the graduate programs is to place students at top universities

CentER has successfully placed students in, for example, University of Chicago, Oxford University, or University of Cambridge

• Curiosity and inquisitive nature

Admission criteria: GRE/GMAT test (depends on RM of choice)- 90% or higher on the quantitative section of the GRE - 90% or higher on the total score of the GMAT IELTS/TOEFL- Minimum score of 7.0 in the Academic IELTS test and no section below 6.5.- At least 100 in the TOEFL internet based test. Excellent grades in your previous education Motivation letter C.V. At least two letters of recommendation Example of written work

Deadlines:1 February (for those wishing to apply for a scholarship) 1 April (for those not needing a scholarship)

Early deadline recommended for all because of limited places and scholarships.

• There are eight or nine sessions of two lectures of 1.5 hours each

• Successfully complete at least five sessions and attend both lectures

• Each session = 1 ECTS

• Choose a topic from one of the sessions for a final assignment of 2 ECTS
