• This presentation will show the basic skills for counting money
• Everyone needs to know the skills for counting money and making change

Penny=1 cent Nickel= 5 cents
Dime=10 cents
Quarter=25 cents Half Dollar=50 cents
Penny
• A penny is worth one cent
• It is made of copper and its color is different from the other coins
• It’s identifying marks are a picture of Abraham Lincoln on one side and the Lincoln Memorial on the other
Nickel
• A nickel is worth five cents
• It’s identifying marks are a picture of Thomas Jefferson on one side and the Monticello Plantation on the other
Dime
• A dime is worth ten cents
• It is the smallest of all of the coins
• It’s identifying marks are a picture of Franklin D. Roosevelt on one side and the torch on the other
Quarter
• A quarter is worth twenty five cents
• It is the next to largest of all of the coins
• It’s identifying marks are a picture of George Washington on one side and the Eagle or one of the fifty states symbols on the other
• This coin is used most often in laundry mats, gum ball machines and arcades.
Half Dollar
• A half dollar is worth fifty cents
• It is the largest of all of the coins
• It’s identifying marks are a picture of John F. Kennedy on one side and the Eagle symbol on the other side.
