BETTER UNDERSTANDINGLooking back from my preliminary task I feel as if I have learnt a lot especially in the field of editing and using the editing software efficiently. The process of editing the film was going to be a huge learning experience for me as I had almost no knowledge whatsoever of film editing apart from the small practice I got from the preliminary task and using editing software such as Premiere pro and performing editing skills such as cutting, sequencing, trimming and the input of features such as titles and non-diegetic sound.

Although being in a group we had assigned individual roles to ourselves I was not the editor however being their throughout the entire process of editing taught me a lot. The sequencing of shots, for me, was the most important aspect of editing to learn and become familiar with as it is the most commonplace and most crucial aspect of editing itself. I believe now I’m able to sequence and position various shots effectively to create a successful film opening.

TechnologyAs the director of my film I have also learnt a large amount about a variety of camera angles and tried to incorporate a wide range of camera angles in my film like long shots of my main character Jenna walking through the park and over the shoulder shots of my antagonist watching her to create the effect that she is in fact being stalked.

Although I was not camera woman through being there and watching Aisha my camerawoman I have also learnt about the different moods that can be portrayed in varying camera angles and shots to create the effects that I wanted. I was particularly happy with the cross cut between Jenna and the antagonist towards the end of the film opening showing that as he was waking up he was about to strangle her.
