Objective:

• To create an interest in the Math program by providing a fun and creative slant

Duration - 01 April 2010 to 3 June 2010

No. of Sessions - 8 sessions

No. of hours per session - 1.5 hours

MECHANICS: Open to all children ages 3-12 Can accommodate at least fifteen (15) students

per time slot

To learn about

fractions and explore the wide range of color

mixtures made by combining fractional

parts of different colors.

Page 5: Math Art this Summer

To combine

numeration and artistic skills by making summer theme art­work

using the concept of coloring by numbers.

Page 6: Math Art this Summer

The children will create

tiling designs by tessellating shapes.

(repetition and patterns)

Page 7: Math Art this Summer

To create a representation of zoo

animals using the origami technique of

geometric folds and crease patterns.

Page 8: Math Art this Summer

To design kites using a collage of colorful

geometric shapes.

Page 9: Math Art this Summer

To learn about lines and use this to design

decorative line art – a dream catcher or a

visor.

To learn about

symmetry and to create a fiesta mask.

To learn about

measurement and apply the concept in

designing a Galileo bag.
