“Former cops Roger Rogerson & Glen McNamara tackled by CCTV footage: police allege they used block and tackle to lift

body of Mr. Jamie Gao”

Police alleged that former detectives Roger Rogerson and Glen McNamara were caught on CCTV hiring a block and tackle which was used to lift the body of the murdered drug runner Jamie Gao into McNamara’s boat.

They allegedly used McNamara’s own credit card for the transaction.

This is what a “block & tackle” looks like MR. JAMIE GAO

The men were then seen on CCTV in the car towing the 4.5m Quintrex fishing boat with an object heavily bound in chain, which the police claim to be Mr Gao’s body – clearly visible inside.

Outside court, Rogerson’s lawyer Paul Kenny said the former detective would plead not guilty to murdering Mr Gao in May.

Police also alleged that Mr Gao’s body was found floating off Cronulla [beachside suburb, in southern Sydney].

The two ex-cops have been charged with shooting Mr Gao dead in a Padstow storage unit after an alleged deal involving 3.1kg of crystal meth [methylamphetamine] went wrong.

Police have alleged all three were caught on CCTV footage walking into the unit but only two walked out.

Police will further allege McNamara and Mr Gao met through a mutual associate with Hong Kong connections.

Crown Prosecutor Christopher Maxwell QC told the court that at least two weeks would be needed to finish testing the crystal meth [methylamphetamine] allegedly found beneath the driver’s seat in McNamara’s car which was parked under his Cronulla unit.

Mr Maxwell said there would also be at least a five week wait to finish fingerprint and DNA testing of the storage unit where police allege Mr Gao was killed.
