Eines Tages befahl Jesus seinen Jüngern, in ihr Boot zu

steigen und an das andere Ufer des Sees

vorauszufahren.

One day, Jesus asked his disciples to get into their boat and

go to the other side the lake.

Dann ging Jesus allein auf einen Berg, um zu beten.

Jesus then went up on a mountain where he could be alone

and pray.

Das Boot war noch weit draußen auf dem See, da

brach ein schwerer Sturm los. Die Jünger konnten

kaum noch steuern.

The boat was far from land when a powerful storm started. The

disciples could barely steer the boat in the water.

In den frühen Morgenstunden kam Jesus auf dem

Wasser zu ihnen.

Early that morning, Jesus walked out on the water towards the

disciples.

Als die Jünger ihn sahen, schrien sie vor Entsetzen,

denn sie hielten ihn für ein Gespenst.

When the disciples saw Jesus, they were terrified. “It’s a

ghost!” they cried out in fear.

Aber Jesus sprach sie sofort an: »Habt keine Angst!

Ich bin es doch, fürchtet euch nicht!«

Jesus called out to them and said, "Do not be afraid. It is I!"

Dann rief Petrus: »Herr, wenn du es wirklich bist, lass

mich auf dem Wasser zu dir kommen.«

Then Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, if it is you, command me to

come to you on the water."

»Komm her!«, antwortete Jesus.

Petrus stieg aus dem Boot und ging Jesus auf dem

Wasser entgegen.

Jesus told Peter, "Come!“

So, Peter got out of the boat and started walking to Jesus on

the surface of the water.

However, after walking a short distance, Peter saw how

strong the storm was and became afraid. He then started to

sink. “Lord, save me!” he called out.

Doch als Petrus merkte, wie heftig der Sturm war,

fürchtete er sich. Er begann zu sinken. »Herr«, schrie er,

»rette mich!«

Jesus streckte ihm die Hand entgegen, ergriff ihn und

sagte: »Hast du so wenig Glauben, Petrus? Warum hast

du gezweifelt?«

Jesus reached out right away and grabbed him. Then he said

to Peter, “Peter, you have so little faith. Why did you doubt?"

Jesus und Petrus stiegen ins Boot, und der Sturm legte

sich. Und alle, die im Boot waren, warfen sich vor Jesus

nieder und sagten: »Du bist wirklich Gottes Sohn.«

When Jesus and Peter got into the boat, the wind died

down. The disciples worshiped Jesus and said, “You really are

the Son of God!”
