First Mission, Arrive to the Top of Mount
Suribachi
US Marines fought during 4 Days climbing
over the Mount Suribachi . There were only 10,000 Japanese, but the Japanese resist
fiercy to hold the Mount.
On February 23rd,1945,US
Marines conquered the Mt Suribachi after 4 days
climbing against
Japanese.
6 US Marines raised the American Flag at the Top of Mt Suribachi in Iwo Jima Island on February 23rd of 1945.

The Film was sent by Airplane to the Island of Guam , then it was transmited by radio to
New York .

Franklin Roosevelt ordered to please back to the USA the Six men who have raised the flag.
It was too late . Mike Strank, Harlon Block and Franklin Sousley were dead
Returned to USA only .
Back in United States, the 3 survivors traveled all over the country with the small statue to collect money for the War.
