While the interface is undoubtedly different on a cell phone, the experience of surfing, downloading, and streaming stands to be very close to that of a broadband connection on a computer

The Apple iPhone 3G (third generation) was launched across India by telecom majors Bharti Airtel and Vodafone.

India is one of the 20 countries set to get the i-phone on the second worldwide release date which is August 22nd of Airtel & Vodafone in the first week of September.


Bharti Airtel, formerly known as Bharti Tele-Ventures Limited (BTVL) is India's largest cellular service provider with more than 75 million subscribers as of August 2008.It offers its TELECOM services under the Airtel brand and is headed by Sunil Mittal. Airtel has received 200,000 pre-bookings for the phone since the process had started about two months back, said Airtel president (mobility) Sanjay Kapoor

It is the largest mobile telecommunications network company

in the world by turnover and has a market value of about

£75 billion

Vodafone launched 3G i-phone in the first week of September.


The iPhone is priced at Rs 31,000 for 8GB.

Rs 36,100 for 16GB of memory space. iPhone is available in two colors . BLACK and WHITE in India.


3G i-phone to impact on mobile TV market:-“The i-phone could become the mobile video delivery device of choice for many consumers, by providing before mobile broadcasting networks.

Apple i-phone 3G threatens to impact global mobile phone market:- The i-phone has attracted fervent interest from consumers & will undoubtly increase the corporation’s degree of Internationalization


I-phone launch to impact Nokia:- When i-phone comes to India, it adds to competitors. The entry of new product in the market creates customer interest & therefore it impacts.

Impact of i-phone for mobile development:- The i-phone would likely hurt them in the short-term, cutting to some extent in their sales.


Impact on the industry, who suffers what the opportunities are, what to watch for next & what to do if they are working at a mobile company.

The 3G system used by AT&T and T-Mobile, called UMTS/HSDPA (Universal Mobile Telephone System with High Speed Data Packet Access), lets you make voice calls and surf the Net at the same time.
