Andrea Richarte Gras yAlmudena Tenza García
Introduction
The IES La Mola is in Novelda. The High School has got three pavilions: A, B and C; the gym, Athletics tracks, and the playground. The pavilions B and C like the car park and the janitor’s house were built later, in different renovations.
Building AIt’s the oldest and it was built in
1967. During that year, it was part of the high school “La Asunción”of Elche and in 1968 of the high school “Azorín” of Elda. In 1974 the high school ceased to belong to the high school “Azorín” and it became an independent centre: National Institute of Bachillerato. It had his first repairs in the 73-74 course. That year the lessons were given in what is nowadays the “Casa Museo Modernista” of the town and at the end of the year the library was opened.
Building B
It was built in 1979. The pavilion has got two halls, both with ground floor and first floor. Nowadays there are laboratories of Sciences and Physics and Chemistry on the ground floor and classrooms and department rooms on the first floor.
Building CIt was built in the 95-96 course,
when the complete renovation of the Centre was done. The pavilion has got ground floor and first floor. On the ground floor there is the caretaker office, the so called “Aula Magna”, a multipurpose classroom, Technology workshop classrooms, an Arts classroom and the departments of Technology, Arts and Drawing, English, and Maths. On the first floor there are two IT classrooms, the latin department, two Music classrooms, another Arts classroom, the Speech Therapy classroom and the Diversification classroom. The pavilion C has got a lift too.
GymIt was built in the 95-96
course, like the pavilion C, next to the Athletics tracks, and the Dressing rooms, which were already built. These were renovated like the rest of the centre.
ParklandThese spaces have
got an educational purpose. Activities related with some subjects like: PE, Audiovisual Communication, Environmental Education, Gardening Practices of PCPI and some extracurricular activities on the Environment are developed in this area.
