Parents Evening Booking System

For Parents..Parents can view a list of the staff,

subjects and available booking times

With multiple children in the school, parents can book appointments by

clicking on another child’s photo.

Parents can control their own appointments..

Appointments can be booked by simply clicking on the available time slot they want to book with the member of staff.Parents can view a list of the

booked appointments.

Notes can be added about what they would like to discuss during the appointment and send to the member of staff.

Parents can print off a list of the booked appointments, to bring along with them to the evening.

Appointments can be removed, if no longer needed.

For Staff...

Staff can see a list of parents evenings events, including the status.

For the selected parents evening, a range of reports can also be viewed by staff.

There’s a ‘Parents’ Evening’ module that will organise your parents’

evenings for you. They logon and say there is a teacher free there, “I’ll

just make my own appointments”, and then when they walk in through

school, they get an appointments sheet with the teachers’ names on

and the teachers get the odd of that these parents are coming in to see

you here and there. It allows you to have direct contact, if you want,

direct managed contact from parents straight to teachers or anyone

who has a responsibility for their daughter, whether that’s a head or a

head of progress or a head of year or, personal tutor.

meaningful discussion, because parents will have the information before

they come. So to me Insight is a huge huge potential.

We use Insight as our parental portal and for parents’ evenings, parents

come in having printed off the reports and it forms a basis if you like for

any conversations that are had. Obviously, for someone if their report

is green it means that they are on target, amber suggests there is still

some work to be done and red of course suggests there is quite a bit of

work to be done if they are to meet their target. One of the real

bonuses of that is that it actually allowed us to set foot on the paperless

route. We sent letters out to parents saying, “Our intentions were to go

paperless as much as possible” and out of a school with just under

1000 students at present, we had only 68 responses saying that they

wanted to receive a letter. So that becomes a much more

manageable number, so the really exciting part is that we can send

this information out as soon as it’s available and parents have access

to it and students can logon to VLE and everybody can see this and I

suppose the real bonus is that everybody can use this and as and

when it is convenient for them to use it. So it really is a massive time

saving software for us and moved us away from spending thousands

and thousands of pounds on paper reports.
