How does your media product represent particular social groups?• When producing my magazine, I have taken into account how

particular social group are represented. My media product uses both genders because I want to portray rock music as best I can and by using both genders, I can stop any stereotypes associated with gender. It will also help my magazine to reach out to a wider audience because it will appeal to both genders and will help to sell.

How rock music is portrayed In the media

There are many stereotypes that surround rock music fans and I wanted to try and eliminate any stereotypes of rock music listeners and to any gender related stereotypes.

There are also many issues with gender representation with rock music, some people say that rock music is mainly male dominated because there are more male bands than female.

How I have represented social groups

I have represented this particular social group by trying to eliminate these social

stereotypes. I have used both genders within my magazine because this eliminates

gender stereotypes with rock music. This makes my magazine more appealing to

both genders. On my front cover, I have focused on the mise En scene. I have

made the background of my front cover which makes it seem more mature and

Reflects better upon the youth and social groups. I have also used more simple clothes that also reflect better upon the social group but I have also used the guitar and the facial expression and pose that helps to show that this magazine is a rock magazine.
