Hardware <-> SoftwareConversion of Text in scanned

pages directly to editable documents

To convert the text in scanned pages or photographs directly to editable word or text documents using either-

1) A Software 2) An Application

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Digitising printed texts so that 1) they can be electronically edited, 2) searched, 3) stored more compactly, 4) displayed on-line, 5) and used in machine processes

MOTIVE

Has no patent signed up till date  Increases efficiency & effectiveness of

office work  Ability to instantly search through content No rewriting everything to correct one

thing. Workflow is increased Can be used in banks, office, colleges,

almost anywhere

SOLUTION

Pattern recognition Artificial intelligence Computer vision

TECHNOLOGY

TECHNOLOGY

OCR Technology

To make a software with the help of OCR Technology which gives 100% output without any bugs

OR To make an app on mobile phones for

conversion of text in photographs to documents with the help of OCR Technology

BASIC IDEA

Optical character recognitionOR

Optical character reader

Mechanical or electronic conversion of images of typed, handwritten or printed text into machine-encoded text, whether from a scanned document, a photo of a document, a scene-photo

WHAT IS OCR ???

No OCR software is 100 percent accurate. The number of errors depends upon the quality and type of document, including the font used. Errors that occur during OCR include misreading letters, skipping over letters that are unreadable, or mixing together text from adjacent columns or image captions.

Accuracy

OCR has difficulty differentiating between characters, such as the number zero and a capital "O."

Work-Arounds

OCR works best with good quality typed documents. Handwritten documents cannot be easily read by OCR software.

Problems with poor contrast and difficulty with documents that have both images and text.

Limited Documents

Decreases work load Saves time and money Produces cleaner data Fast & accurate Gain efficiencies in production imaging systems. Reduces labour costs required for verification Scalable for growth or increased document capture Common output formats including: Formatted ASCII RTF - support for color/grayscale images PDF - support for color/grayscale images HTML

UNIQUE SELLING POINT

Data entry for business documents, e.g. check, passport, invoice, bank statement and receipt

Automatic number plate recognition Automatic insurance documents key

information extraction Extracting business card information into a

contact list

APPLICATIONS

More quickly make textual versions of printed documents, e.g. book scanning for a Project

Make electronic images of printed documents searchable, e.g. Google Books

Converting handwriting in real time to control a computer (pen computing)

Assistive technology for blind and visually impaired users

APPLICATIONS

Entire banking sector In colleges, schools etc In offices Widely used as a form of data entry from printed paper

data records, whether passport documents, invoices, bank statements, computerised receipts, business cards, mail, printouts of static-data, or any suitable documentation.
