Skill 1 Steps: Check Spelling

1. Click the REVIEW tab

2. Click the Spelling button in the Proofing group to open the Spelling pane

3. Click the Ignore All button in the Spelling pane so PowerPoint doesn’t flag any more instances of the correctly spelled French word Chocolat

4. When metafor appears in the Spelling pane, click the Change button to replace this word with the correct spelling, metaphor

5. When Wonka appears in the Spelling pane, click the Ignore All button

6. When Lezioni appears in the Spelling pane, click the Ignore button

7. When Cioccolato appears in the Spelling pane, click the Ignore button

8. Click OK at the message box

Add Words to the Spelling Check Dictionary Suppose you frequently use a word that the

spelling check questions, such as your company name or your last name

You can add that word to the spelling check dictionary

Just click the Add button in the Spelling pane when that word is questioned during a spelling check

Once you add a word to the dictionary, it no longer appears as an error in the Spelling pane

Skill 2 Steps: Run a Show

1. Click the SLIDE SHOW tab

2. Click the From Beginning button

3. Press the Right Arrow key one time to proceed from Slide 1 to Slide 2

4. Press the Left Arrow key one time to move from Slide 2 back to Slide 1

5. Click your mouse button to move from Slide 1 to Slide 2

6. Press the spacebar one time to move from Slide 2 to Slide 3

7. Press the Backspace key one time to move from Slide 3 to Slide 2

8. Right-click in Slide 2 and then click See All Slides in the pop-up menu

9. Click Slide 4 to display it in full-screen Slide Show view

10. Click the Previous button ( ) in the Slide Show toolbar to navigate from Slide 4 to Slide 3

11. Click the Magnifying Glass button ( ) in the Slide Show control bar and then click the word Comfort to zoom in on the slide

12. Right-click once to zoom back out

13. Click the See All Slides button ( ) in the Slide Show toolbar

14. Click Slide 5 to display it in Slide Show view

17. Point to the cocoa pod image on Slide 5

18. Right-click the current slide and then click End Show in the pop-up menu

Using Presenter View If you have the necessary hardware, Presenter

view lets you see your notes while you are delivering your presentation

Access Presenter view by clicking ( ) on the Slide Show control bar in the bottom left corner of the slide and then clicking Show Presenter View

Skill 3 Steps: Rehearse Timings

1. Click the SLIDE SHOW tab

2. Click the Rehearse Timings button in the Set Up group

3. Read Slide 1 while the timer runs

4. Select the time in the timing measurement box, type 0:00:05 if necessary, and then press Enter

5. Type 0:00:09 in the timing measurement boxes for Slides 2 through 4

6. Type 0:00:04 in the timing measurement box for Slide 5

7. At the warning box indicating that the total time was 0:00:36, click Yes

8. Click the VIEW tab and then click the Slide Sorter button in the Presentation Views group

9. View the assigned times for each slide in the presentation

Recording a Narration When you record a narration, you can save

timings that match the length of each slide’s narration

Use the Record Slide Show button in the Set Up group on the SLIDE SHOW tab to record a narration, such as the one contained in the notes pane of the movie slide show

1. Click the SLIDE SHOW tab

2. Click the Set Up Slide Show button in the Set Up group

3. Click the Browsed at a kiosk (full screen) option in the Show type section

4. Confirm that the Using timings, if present option is selected in the Advance slides section and click OK

5. Run the show

6. Press Esc to end the show

Creating a Custom Show To create a custom show:

1. click the SLIDE SHOW tab

2. click the Custom Slide Show button in the Start Slide Show group

3. click Custom Shows from the drop-down list to open the Custom Show dialog box

4. Click the New button to open the Define Custom Show dialog box

name in the Slide show name text box Choose a slide you wish to include in your show

by clicking the slide number on the left Click the Add button to move that slide to the

Slides in custom show list When you have added all the slides you want to

include in your custom show, click OK and then click Close

3. In the Settings category, click the Full Page Slides option

4. In the Print Layout section of the drop-down list, click Notes Pages

5. Click the Print button

Advanced Print Settings There are a few more settings you can select to

affect how your document prints For example, you can choose to:

– collate copies so that multiple copies print as sets (rather than printing three page 1s in a stack, three page 2s in a stack, and so on)

– print in color or on both sides of the paper (which may require that you turn over the paper in your printer after printing the first side)

1. Click the FILE tab

2. Click the Share option

3. Click Present Online in the Share category

4. Click the Present Online button

5. Enter the email address associated with your Microsoft account in the text box in the Microsoft account dialog box

6. Enter your password in the text box in the Microsoft account dialog box

7. Click the Sign in button

Share a Presentation Using Sky Drive To share a presentation using SkyDrive, first

save the presentation to your SkyDrive account:1. click the FILE tab

2. click Save As

3. select your SkyDrive account in the Save As list

Then share the presentation:1. click the FILE tab

2. click Share

3. click the Invite People option in the Share category
