Assignment and portfolio deadline:11 Dec (assignment 2, option ’A’ for tonight’s content)

Portfolio - Start your portfolio by completing at least 3 of the following tasks. • Write a short reflective journal entry.  Answer these questions in your writing:

Why am I doing youth work?  What roles do I play?  Who has God made me to be? (Roughly 250-300 words)

• Draw up a plan of how you look after yourself in ministry.  Include:  Personal growth (discipleship), balance between work and rest, support and pastoral care. (Roughly 250-300 words)

• Pick one of the values of youth ministry that we looked at (Relational discipleship, spiritual formation, educational, empowering and equal opportunities). Write a short definition on what that value means and then share about how you put that into practice in your youth group. (Roughly 250-300 words)

• Organise a visit to a different youth group.  Do this at least once during your time on the course.  Ask the placement's line-manager to write a short observation on you (template can be found in the Info Kiosk)

• Arrange for your line-manager to observe you while you work with young people, and ask them to complete an observation form (this can be found in the Info Kiosk)

• Complete a Spiritual Gifts Questionnaire (like the one that can be found at www.spiritualgiftstest.com)  This can be downloaded from the file manager.
