My Tools

According to the teacher I have interviewed, they have utilized

the parents as school partners in education in a form of supporting their

children in terms of financing their children’s tuition fee and other

money matters. Parents are also encouraged to support their children

morally when it seems that their children are losing motivation to study

by giving pieces of advice. Teachers also encourage the parents to

conduct follow-up activities by reviewing their children’s lessons and

guiding their children in answering assignments. If in case children

commit misconduct, the parents’ attention will be called in order to

resolve and find alternative solutions so that the case will not occur

again. Basically, parents are the primary source of knowledge filling

up the empty slate of the child into fully loaded slate.

My Analysis

As a future teacher, I need to know and understand the six features of the

curriculum because my life as a teacher would be less burdened if I know and understand

the six features. If in case I will be in the field, I could easily acquire instructional

materials to sustain my teaching with the help of the stakeholders. In addition, I can

easily employ accurate methods and strategies of teaching and easily pick the lessons

needed to develop my students to face real-life situations. Generally, knowing and

understanding the six features make teaching-learning process be in the best state or in

the best out of it.

My Reflections

From this episode, I learned that the six features of curriculum are very prominent

in the field of teaching. It could be the way where teaching be smooth as possible, good

and effective as possible. With these features, teachers will be guided as what and how to

act accordingly. I also learned that these six features build up the whole educative

process. The community partners as one of the stakeholders are of great help in the

production of instructional materials needed to supplement learning process. I learned

really a lot in this episode. Now, I will be aware on what are the functions of these

features are and what their role are in the learning process.
