My Learning Essentials

Learning portfolio is a purposeful collection of student work that exhibits a student’s progress, achievements and competencies gained in a given area or course.

There are 3 types of portfolio namely: 1) growth / development portfolio, 2) showcase/best work/ display portfolio and 3) assessment/ evaluation portfolio.

Display / showcase / best work portfolio is to demonstrate the highest level of achievement attained by the student.

The main purpose of an assessment / evaluation portfolio is to document student learning on specific curriculum outcomes.
