Fort Drum to open additional

gates during morning hours

Beginning Monday January 30 two additional gates on post

will open during morning hours to give motorist alternate

access to the installation and air field and help relieve

morning traffic congestion.

Route 3a in Deferiet will be open from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.

holders only.

The opening of the Nash gate is expected to ease traffic

along NYS Route 26 in Great Bend. The gate in Deferiet will

provide an alternate route to the airfield. These gates will

not be open during the weekends or holidays.

The other six access gates will remain unchanged.

Mt. Belvedere, Iraqi Freedom, Gas Alley and Wheeler-Sack

gates are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
