Fit for Purpose Analysis I believe that my cover is recognisable as a Little White Lies one as it incorporates many of the features used in a LWL cover such as the artistic/painting look of a character with themes that relate to the film. I tried to make my cover look as similar to a Little White Lies cover as possible and I am fairly positive that my cover could pass for a Little White Lies one, while it may use a lot more colour than some of the covers it is not a completely different change as their cover for Django Unchained used a lot of colour as well. I feel that my cover does create some interest and may “pull a reader in” however because I chose to use the antagonist of the film and not one of the protagonists - who are more well known - this may not draw as many in as many viewers, however, the cover does feature a well known, older actor, Don Sutherland, which may also generate more interest. I believe that my cover does create some curiosity as although he is the antagonist of the movie, he has a very neutral, calm look on his face in the cover and comes across more as enigmatic rather than “evil” or “bad.” My cover does give off the impression that their are benefits to buying/reading it, maybe there will be a new perspective on the movie from the antagonists view, I do believe however it is not the most exciting of covers and does not necessarily scream “benefits inside”. The main difference between a Little White Lies magazine and another film magazine such as Total Film is that Total Film uses large fonts that shouts out to the viewer to grab their attention and uses pictures from the film, they also usually have lots of other text on the cover with other teasers and offers, it has a “packed-full” feel. Little White Lies always goes for a “quieter”, more artistic look, it doesn’t shout out at you and usually uses a character from the film with a unique artistic style done on it with the title of the film laid out in a creative way, it feels like it is more for

Fit for Purpose Analysis

I believe that my cover is recognisable as a Little White Lies one as it incorporates many of the features used in a LWL cover such as the artistic/painting look of a character with themes that relate to the film. I tried to make my cover look as similar to a Little White Lies cover as possible and I am fairly positive that my cover could pass for a Little White Lies one, while it may use a lot more colour than some of the covers it is not a completely different change as their cover for Django Unchained used a lot of colour as well.

I feel that my cover does create some interest and may “pull a reader in” however because I chose to use the antagonist of the film and not one of the protagonists - who are more well known - this may not draw as many in as many viewers, how-ever, the cover does feature a well known, older actor, Don Sutherland, which may also generate more interest. I believe that my cover does create some curiosity as although he is the antagonist of the movie, he has a very neutral, calm look on his face in the cover and comes across more as enigmatic rather than “evil” or “bad.”

My cover does give off the impression that their are benefits to buying/reading it, maybe there will be a new perspective on the movie from the antagonists view, I do believe however it is not the most exciting of covers and does not necessarily scream “benefits inside”.

The main difference between a Little White Lies magazine and another film maga-zine such as Total Film is that Total Film uses large fonts that shouts out to the viewer to grab their attention and uses pictures from the film, they also usually have lots of other text on the cover with other teasers and offers, it has a “packed-full” feel. Little White Lies always goes for a “quieter”, more artistic look, it doesn’t shout out at you and usually uses a character from the film with a unique artistic style done on it with the title of the film laid out in a creative way, it feels like it is more for someone who knows what they are looking for whereas Total Film feels like it’s try-ing to grab anyone’s attention with big offers and teasers.

I feel that my cover emulates a Little White Lies one quite well, and if it was in a shop next to a Total Film/Empire magazine, it would be very easy to distinguish the difference between them and to know this is a Little White Lies magazine.

Little White Lies is clearly for a certain unique audience, it isn’t a ‘mainstream’ mag-azine such as Total Film, while it would not seem logical for a casual movie goer to purchase a LWL magazine, a hard-core indie movie fan would see it logical to pur-chase this magazine to see their ‘unique’ perspective on films.
