Final Product Evaluation Part 2

Jack Mays

How does your Media Product represent particular social groups?

• My product has mainly represented 16-early 20s

• This is due to the fact my photo people are in this age range

Cover

expression represents teens as intimidating; implies an anti social but “cool” personality

Hair style represents teens as rebellious; is another source of an intimidation representation especially with the lighting

Clothing is typical of a teenager; thus represents stereotypical teen especially rock fans with dark colour and casual feel

Contents Part 1

Dark colour is stereotypical of my intended rock genre and enforces photo’s intimidation factor

Direct address partially covered by hair enforces previous rebellious and intimidating representationFolded arms pose represents

defiancy which is typical teen rock fan stereotype; it is also slightly intimidating

Same costume detail for the stereotypical grungy teen feel; also connotates a sort of loner with the facial expression and pose

Contents Part 2

Same serious expression as other photo person to also create intimidating representation of his age group (teens)

Hair highlights connotates similar rebellious representation to my other photo persons folded arms pose

May not be visible, but the costume is a hooded jacket; creates similar grungy teenager rep to my other photo person

Double Page Spread

Suggestive logo on the grungy costume represents teens as rebellious and Head tilted at an angle but still giving a direct address adds to

the intimidation of the stare and thus enforces the intimidating, grungy teen rock fan representation from my other pieces
