HCA Library

• The HCA library is situated up the first stairs behind reception, opposite the computer suite.

• The student I.D. card you receive when enrolling is also your library card.

• The library contains books, magazines, DVDs, computers & study spaces.• Photocopiers & printers are also

available.

• There is also a specialist art materials shop selling pens, pencils, sketchbooks, pen-drives, lab coats, photo paper & much more.

• All items are sold at special discount prices for HCA students only.

• The library stocks a wide range of DVDs: new & classic films, documentaries, dance, music & animation as well as films about artists and designers.

• We have books on all aspects of Art, Design & the Performing Arts & expert staff to help you.

• There are guides on the sides of the shelves to help you find what you are looking for.

• The library has a wide range of magazines giving you access to contemporary artists and techniques, information you will need for forthcoming interviews.

• The library catalogue is online so you can search for items from any computer.• If you cannot find what you want

please ask at the desk.

• The library page of StudentNet gives you access to online resources, recommended websites, A-Z list of DVDs & much more.

• Students can borrow 6 items at any one time.• Most books are loanable for 4

weeks; magazines & DVDs for 1 week.• All are free to borrow.

• To borrow an item just make your choice and bring it to the library desk along with your student card.• A librarian will stamp it so you

know when it is due back.

• The Careers Library gives you access to prospectuses as well as guides to occupations.• HCA students can also borrow

books from the Technical College Library also on Folly Lane.

• There is a drop-off box outside the library door where you can leave returned items.
