Preliminary Task Media ProductThe brief was to create a short video of someone walking through a door, closing the door and then having some sort of conversation. We needed to include ‘shot-reverse-shot’, ‘match on action’ and a 180 degree rule.

The brief was to create the opening 2 minutes of a thriller film, including the title sequence and the codes and conventions of a typical thriller film.

I was elected team leader at the start of the course and I was able to maintain a steady pace for reaching deadlines and I felt that my group was able to reach most deadlines with good quality work.

We worked together to get everything done on time and to a good quality.

I learnt how to adjust the volume on each individual clip.

For example, on the clip of the bus, we had some trouble with the wind but we still wanted the sound of the bus so we adjusted the volume on the clip, emphasising the engine and muting the wind.

I learnt how to frame clips. The clips in the film line up well concluding

in having good continuity throughout the opening two minutes.

I learnt how to input moving and still images into Corel.

I uploaded the two distribution companies which are just simple JPEG’s and uploaded all the clips filmed using a canon camera.

I learnt how to use a variety of transitions like ‘fade’ and ‘cross fade’ .

The transition, ‘fade’, is the most common transition used to gently move from one clip to another.

Throughout the course, we encountered many barriers. As team leader, I had the responsibility to take control of how to reduce and resolve the barriers faced.

We faced many barriers like:Not being able to use a location.Misunderstanding and lack of communication.

I called team meetings to discuss how these barriers would be faced and made sure that everyone had a turn in speaking and expressing there ideas.
