USE

The film name is the biggest bit of text

Both have big images filling the poster

Both include credits

• There are a few similarities to the existing poster and the one I created, for example we have both made the film name the biggest font as it stands out and gives the audience information for example they know what it is if they want to watch it. Also we both use a big image to fill the background of the poster and we have both included credits this will let the audience know who will feature in the film.

•  I've used the codes and conventions of a film poster e.g. film name, cast credits, release date, image etc.

DEVELOP

Film title at the top

Release date is big and under film name

Credits are bigger and clearer

Colour scheme is different

• I have made my colour scheme different to on the existing product as I think this suits my genre better. I have used quite dull/dark colours for most of it, this gives the impression that its quite a ‘dark’ film and that it would only be suitable for the older generation. However I have made my title a yellow this is to make it stand out more against the darker colours.

• I have made my release date big to make it clear to my audience when its out as that is important information. I also put it right under the title at the top so its more noticeable.

• My credits are also bigger as I feel this is easier for people to read if they wish to know who stars in it.

CHALLENGE

Big Production company logo

Age rating certificate

Critics rating

• I have added my production company logo to it to show the audience who has helped with the release of the film.

• I have also added and age rating to it as I feel that it was important to include it to make it clear to everyone that it is a film with bad content in it and so is not suitable for people under 15. This might also attract more of an older audience as they will see it isn’t a childish film.

• I also decided to add a critics rating as I have seen it done on products before and thought it would look good. Also people will be encouraged to watch it by seeing it got a high rating.
