While I was creating my main product and the ancillary texts I kept the same colour scheme throughout and tried to keep the representation the same. The main colours on my magazine poster and my digipak are black and white but there is a red jacket that is in colour so it stands out. The red on the dark colours makes it stand out. Red is a bright strong colour, this represents the artists and shows that they are strong and bold. The layout of the poster and the digipak are similar as I wanted to keep the theme and the layout the same to make it all look more realistic. The main image on the front of the digipak is the main image that the audience will see, I have put this as the main image on the poster as well. I have tried to show the two artists as the same and have the same authority, I have done this by showing two different pictures that show each of the artists in a different way, an example of this is on the cover Zac is looking down at Jebba but in the image on the inside Jebba is looking down at Zac. In all of the images the two artists are either looking at each other or they are walking next to each other.

This is my magazine poster and my digipak inside and the outside design.

Setting - The only settings that are clearly visible is the outside where the two artists are walking away from the camera. As they are walking away from the camera down a path, this could represent them walking on the path to where they are going next with their relationship. The other images are on a plain grey or white background, these are neutral colours that are typically used in the R&B genre.

Costume - The costumes are the same in all of the images apart from one image on the inside. All of the images are in black and white so we are not able to see the colours of them. I have put the red jacket in colour as the audience will be able to associate a red jacket with the single and the artists.

Lighting - For the images that were took outside we used natural lighting, this is because we wanted it to look natural with the sunlight. The images that were took inside with the white and grey background were took with the studio lights, this is to give the photos a better effect and to focus more on the artists.

Uses and gratification - Blumler and Katz came up with this theory, it focuses more on the audience than the actual product. They say that the audience take an active role in interpreting media in their own lives. The audience can relate to our music video and the song as it is about being “mesmerized” by someone, the audience will be able to relate to this. The actions and the movements of the artists can be relatable to some teenagers today. Both of the artists are seen taking a walk together and are going on a “date”, this can be relatable to many teens and also adults.

Stereotypes - I have been quite stereotypical when creating this music video, this is to make the genre of the music video very clear to the audience. An example of this is the costumes of the artists, they are stereotypical costumes for an R&B music video. The male artists is wearing jewellery, trainers and a hoodie, these are typical clothes that you would expect to see in a R&B music video.

My products will be easily identifiable to the audience because I have created a certain image for the artists that the audience will be able to identify. The black and white images with the red jacket will be the image for the artists and the single. Whenever the audience see the red jacket they will be able to relate it to the album. The colours on the poster and the digipak are all neutral colours so anyone should be able to tell that is it an R&B music video.

The album is called Mesmerize, this word is used to describe the way someone captures the attention of someone else. The images of the artists show that they are mesmerized by each other because they are always looking at each other and they are not focused on anything else.

The logo that I have created is a monkey with a crown on its head, this is unique as there is no other record company that has the same logo or a similar logo to us. This makes us identifiable because the logo we have is unique.

These features make the artists and the album identifiable because when the audience see a red jacket they will automatically link it to the song. Also when they see the logo they will be able to recognise the record company and the single, album and the artists.

I am happy with the final products that I have created, the music video, the magazine poster and the digipak. The conventions that are usually in an R&B music video are included in my final music video and the ancillary texts.

I believe that my work does meet the expectations desired as I have completed it to the highest quality that I am able to. After having carried out all of the research and planning, I have applied this information to the work that I have produced.
