Artists I have looked at:Shepard Fairey The reason why l like Shepard Fairey’s work is because his recent works has mostly focused on complex layered patterns as backdrops to propaganda style images.

My Inspiration I have used different religious symbols from three different religion into my work. I have done this because I wanted to include some symbols that are important and these three are not the important but are used for different reasons in the religion.

• This symbol resembles eyes of Buddha and it symbolizes wisdom and enlightenment.

• The lotus is often used as an example of divine beauty and purity, and Hindu's god Vishnu is described as the “Lotus- Eyed One”.

• The word Hamsa and hamesh mean “five” and refer to the digits on the hand. Its also used for magical protection from the envious or evil eye.

Paper Version

I have drawn two hamsa designs because for my final design I wanted to experiment with various designs. I will then use illustrator to edit these so I can used it for my final piece.

Mixed media version

These are the stages of how I edited my work digitally.

Development stages

Page 12: Evaluation + Development

I started off by using my final poster. I didn’t want this plain design to be my final work.

I then give it a different filter and for this I used Photoshop and then selected the artistic gallery to select a filter, that’s different to my main poster.

Then I decided to play around with the shape and this is the final outcome that was alright and I ended up using two designs into the final outcome.

I used black and white for one piece and a coloured one for the next one, I did this because it stood out to me and the Peace is for the awareness.

More Development

For this version, I have done the similar thing to my first design. I have edited the hamsa design using two different filters and this allowed me to get the final results.

However, I wanted a bit of writing into this so I used the famous quote “Live, Love and laugh” for this version.

Final poster

I got inspired by the artist KEF because he uses variations of lines and his work is purely based around Buddhists philosophy. I did play around different sizes and angles into my work but I decided to go for the square design as it looked simple and eye catching on the filters I have used.

I have used the black and white filters this is because it makes the final work stand out more and the word PEACE goes with it. The other filtered piece however, has more colour and this both together makes the whole poster eye catching.

Final stickers

This is my final stickers, the reason why I have used two different hamsa designs is because I wanted to try something different into my final stickers and this was a perfect way of doing it.

I have used different colours for the background. I did this so it stands out more when its out in the public eyes. The word PEACE stands out and I used that because I want peace between every religion. People see Hamsa as a protection from evil eyes and hopefully my stickers do the same.

EvaluationWhat I intended to

do?For my final work (the poster) I have basically produced a poster and on the poster I have included these main things: The lotus symbol in the middle The circles in the right hand

corner and the circles in left hand corner represents the eyes.

The shapes going around the square represents the Buddhists symbol, I got the idea from a book pattern from a Buddhists book.

As for my stickers I have used my original work this includes the mixed media stuff from my previous slides. I haven't made much changes on the stickers I have only added different filters on every design.

The reason behind the word PEACE is because I want all the religion to remain peace. So hopefully my stickers will put the awareness out there. Once its seen in the public eyes.

What techniques did I use?

Who is your targeted audience?

I don’t have a specific target audience, I believe anyone can view my posters and stickers if they have any interests in art or graffiti. Also the concept behind my final outcome is pretty simple and it’s related with religion.

I used mixed media for my final design. I did this because I wanted my designs to look unique and in order to do that I had to hand draw every single detail that’s in the hamsa. After drawing the designs I then scanned them onto the computer and edited them using illustrator, I mainly used the pen tool to go along the outline of the hamsa. However, I didn’t outline everything, I wanted some hand drawn things to still be seen so I kept some designs the same.

Page 19: Evaluation + Development

Where did my inspiration stem from?I did a lot of research on different religion symbols and what it meant, while I was doing my research I came across the Hamsa and I liked the concept behind it and how the middle eastern symbolises the hand of God. I wanted to try something different for my final design and hamsa was unique and its very famous in different religion background and also for my final design I have added different religion symbols into the work for example the Eyes and the Lotus symbol are from two religions.

Here is an example of what I have done previously:

I have done this on a paper this is because I wanted to try out separate things for example mixed media and digital use. In this piece I have added the Buddhist symbol the EYES so my purpose fits in.

Original Outcome Poster Stickers

This is my original outcome for my poster, I have used different Buddhist symbol into this work for example the swirls in the square is from a Buddhist book. There is a lotus Patel in the middle of the Hamsa.

I have used the two different hamsa for this work. The reason behind this is because I wanted to try out different things into my final outcome of my stickers, and this was the perfect way of putting my work.
