Schools in the United States

Different Across the 50 states

In the south, they sometimes do not teach Evolution

Religion is never included in the public schools

Normal is: K-5 schools (5-10 year olds) “Elementary school” “Middle school” (11-14 year olds) “High school” (14-18 year olds) or 9th-12th grade.

“Alternative schools” K-12 schools (5-18 year olds) K-8 schools (5-14 year olds)

My “middle school”: Sunnyside Environmental

SchoolMiddle school is from ages 11-14

However, my school changed to 5-14 when I was 12.

How my school workedSchool 9am-3pm

First “Morning meeting” to sing songs, talk, lectures, “open mic”

Then you have one class where you learn English, History, Social Sciences and some Science Classes were about 25 students

Then each day, 1 hour of Spanish, 1 hour of Math

Twice a week, 1 hour of Science, 1 hour of PE

Once a week, “Field Trip”

My “High School”: Grant High School

How it workedSchool from 8am-3pm

Have 7 classes a day

You take English, History, Math, Science, Language (Spanish/French/Japanese), 1 year of PE, and then classes of your choice

Classes were very big:30-40 students

My school had many bad students that did not graduate

American Football is Very Important

And very good too at Grant
