Analyze the arguments for entering into war presentedby leaders from all sides of the Great War and the role ofpolitical and economic rivalries, ethnic and ideologicalconflicts, domestic discontent and disorder, andpropaganda and nationalism in mobilizing the civilianpopulation in support of total war. 2. Examine the principal theaters of battle, major turningpoints, and the importance of geographic factors in militarydecisions and outcomes (e.g., topography, waterways,distance, climate). 3. Lesson ObjectivesYou will: Know how to complete a flow chart. Understand that each country entered WWIbecause of treaties and alliances that hadbeen previously signed. Know the major battles of WWI and majorturning points, when they occurred and wherethe battles were by placing them correctly inthe Flow Chart. 4.
