EDP 279 Assignment 4.1SMART board lesson plan

Emily Cox

How Does this SMART Exchange lesson work? The class will be split into 5 teams. One team for each horse. Students will then be asked a series of questions. After each question, the teams that got it right will be asked to touch their horse to move it forward one step. The team whose horse crosses the finish line first will be the winning team.

The questions asked can be any topic and for any grade level. The lesson has 14,526 downloads as of 11/1/16.

How would I adapt this lesson plan for my own class?I would use this SMART Exchange for a review game before a quiz or test.

For example, if I taught about Greek Gods/Goddesses, I would create a series of questions about the Olympian Gods. ANd example would be “Who is the God of the Sea?” The teams that answer with “Poseidon” would be able to move their horse forward.

I would have some sort of reward for the winning team such as extra credit, or candy.

How this ties into my majorBecause I am a Art Education major, this lesson would allow me to review facts about Greek Mythology when I teach about Greek Art. Since a lot of ancient art consists of images of gods/goddesses and other mythological characters it would be important for me to give students a little bit of background knowledge on the images depicted on the art.

This lesson plan would test their knowledge.
