Dr P Mohamed Ali – A Well-Known Philanthropist

When we talk about philanthropy, hardly we will find any person who will show keen interest in this topic to discuss upon. Yes, that’s a sad thing because majority of the folks of the current era are interested in plenty of other topics for conversation rather than this. Worse than this, try asking a few names of some well-known philanthropists and everyone will keep mum with a big question mark on their face. Well this is the fact and the society has to change the way they look towards this so called profession of social welfare. Majority of the people out there in this field are working for their personal benefits, just to gain some share of visibility among the public. But no-one would work day in and day

out, selflessly sacrificing their time and soul for the development of the society.

Well, there are a few people who with their untiring efforts are working for the enhancement of the society and possibly trying to change the point of view of people regarding this field. Among these people is a great charismatic personality, Dr P Mohamed Ali who since his early age has strived hard for educational empowerment in the Oman and India. Such people working selflessly for the society are rare to find and even rare are the people who don’t boast about themselves after doing such work. Their success makes more noise than their work.

Born in the village of Karnataka in India, Dr P Mohamed Ali is a civil engineer who is always inclined towards education and believed that ‘education is the most important aspect of the human life and it is the only thing by which a person can achieve self-actualization’. Earlier in his career he worked in both private as well as public sector. He did a government job and then after few years even worked as a banker but after realizing that a job cannot fulfil his ambitions and dreams, he left India and came to Oman in search of an opportunity. There he set his own company named Galfar Engineering and Contracting SAOG

Banking on the success of Galfar, he began to work towards his dream of driving a change in the society. This was the time when education in Oman was not up to the standards of the other countries and Dr P Mohamed Ali left no stone unturned in grabbing this opportunity of working towards it with a sole purpose of providing quality education. He opened many schools and colleges with infrastructure and qualified professors matching international standards. Also, he worked for the weaker sections of the society by being the founder of ‘PM foundation’ which provided scholarships to the students.

Indeed such great things can be done only by a great person like him. Being rich doesn’t matter to people but being rich by heart certainly matters and for this people offer you support in abundance. P Mohamed Ali is an inspiration for the young and even if handful of people get inspired by his work it can change the attitude of the people towards philanthropy.
