SituationSituation • The target group - Cocoa Farmers Group "Sari MulyoSari Mulyo" ,
GunungKidul, Yogyakarta. • Total cacao plantation area belong to the group of about 15
Ha, currently consisting of 5200 productive and 7000 unproductive young trees.
• Member: 67 cocoa farmers, each has 0.224 Ha of about 182 trees.
• Productivity is 0.61 kg cocoa bean/ tree/ year(very low). • The price of dried cocoa bean = Rp. 25.000,-• Estimate Income from selling cacao bean: 0.61 kg cocoa bean
x 182 trees x Rp.25.000,-/kg = Rp.Rp.2.775.5002.775.500,-/ year,-/ year.• Not sufficient income to live only by selling dried cocoa alone
• Need: change the mindset – develop added value productsdevelop added value products

3. Community Cervices : to be involved in the ‘Local Problem Solution’ in research, possibility to adopt/develop new approaches, visibility and applicability of the achieved results
