DESCRIPTION
This is a model I have developed to better explain how teachers can plan and conduct teaching in a blended learning context. I have decided to call the model "The unified Classroom" because the three learning arenas form a Venn-diagram and the sum of the total area is called a union. An important point when talking about the Unified classroom is to include the potential in the intersections between the three learning arenas. The area called "Home" could be extended to be arenas outside of the regular / traditional classroom as many students do not do schoolwork at home, but elsewhere like library, at grandparents homes, on the bus while commuting to school etc. The main point is an area outside the regular/traditional classroom. I started to use the term "Blended classroom", but I have decided to use the term "Unified classroom" because the term "Blended classroom" can be interpreted as a room where teaching for several year groups happens at the same time. I have decided to use "Det kombinerte klasserommet" as the norwegian term.
