For the cover image of my magazine I am going to use a picture of a primary school child as the magazine is for a primary school. The main focus of my image is a child colouring. The photo will be taken from above the child with her/him smiling and looking up directly into camera. This will give the image connotations of confidence and enjoyment.

The picture will be a medium close up which means that the picture will consist of mainly the subject without a large areas of background. I will also take photo against a plain wall of a coordinating colour to my colour scheme. This will make the image simple and uncluttered which will hopefully make the image stand out and focus the audiences attention. The child will be wearing the school uniform of the relevant school which will help the audience connect the magazine with the school.

Headline -

The headline will be ‘school praised for imaginative learning’.

The image will be on the bottom right of the cover page, leaving the top and top left side of the page with plenty of negative space. This will leave me room for titles and headlines ect.

I will use some effects on my photo I may change the hue/saturation to give the colours more interesting and vibrant which will appeal to my audience. I may also add some effects to the drawing that the child’s doing, I might possibly make it look like cartoon that has come to life to give the magazine a fun look and to engage my audience more.
