• For students who know exactly what major they wish to pursue and at which CSU campus, current major preparation articulation and transfer admission agreements are quite useful.

• For students who are initially uncertain about a major and/or CSU campus, the LDTP provides a measure of flexibility and options for preparation.

• Cabrillo College has in place articulation with Indiana University through a 90/30 Bachelor of General Studies Program. Under the 90/30 Program, students earn an A.S. degree (60 units) at Cabrillo, take an additional 30 units of specified courses for their major at Cabrillo, and then take their final 30 units of upper-division courses on-line via distance education at Indiana University.

enrolled, 50 from the U.S. and 50 English-speaking students from the Czech Republic or other countries.

• They admit California Community College transfer students who have a 2.5 GPA or higher.

• All of their classes are taught in English.

• Cabrillo articulates courses with 13 local high schools and the County ROP.

• Many of these agreements are for placement in math and foreign language

• But Cabrillo also has agreements with high schools for career-technical courses, some of which transfer to the CSU and UC.

How does this work?How does this work?

• The goal of high school articulation is to bring the high school student into the foundation course in a particular vocational or transfer program.

• The agreements require curriculum review by both the high school and college faculty teaching the courses.

• Requirements for credit are specified: e.g.“eligible to petition for CJ-1, 3 units, with Grade of “C” or better in class AND 70% or better on the Cabrillo-approved CJ-1 final exam.

• Agreements can be renewed or updated each year following curriculum review by both high school and college faculty teaching the courses. Presently we are puttting the agreements in place for 2 years.

• The high school student takes the high school course and meets the minimum requirement to petition for credit, e.g. grade of “B” in the course.

• The process for a high school student to receive credit requires the submission of:

– Application for Enrollment– High School Release Form– Petition for Articulated Credit

• All of which are available on the School to College to Career websiteAnd – Transcript or Grade Report from Instructor

(Exam grades or portfolio if required)

• After processing, student is given credit in the Cabrillo course with the corresponding high school grade, with a special code on the Cabrillo transcript - credit by exam*.

High school student is enrolled at an area high school AND wants to take a course at Cabrillo College.

• Student submits Cabrillo application for enrollment.

• Student submits a high school release form indicating which course student wishes to enroll in. Form is signed by a high school administrator, the parent or guardian and the student. Some Cabrillo courses can also fulfill high school requirements. Student should discuss this with the high school counselor, and check the box on the high school release form to receive credit on their high school transcript.

• Student enrolls in the course and pays the Cabrillo fees.

• Upon completion of the course, student receives a Cabrillo grade. Student may request a copy of their Cabrillo transcript by filling out a Transcript Request Form.

• A Cabrillo grade report will be sent automatically to the high school If student receives a grade of “A” from Cabrillo, high school may also award honors points.

• Student enrolls in a regular high school course which is articulated to a Cabrillo course.

• Upon completion of the course student submits the following:

• Cabrillo application for enrollment.• High School Release form indicating the

Cabrillo articulated course. Form is signed by a high school administrator, the parent or guardian and the student.

• Petition for Articulated Credit.• Transcript Request form to have the

Cabrillo transcript mailed to them after credit has been awarded.

• Upon completion of the course, high school instructor submits a final grade sheet to Cabrillo HSO.

• HSO submits students’ paperwork to Cabrillo Admissions & Records for processing and awarding of credit. (Student pays no Cabrillo fees).

• Student is given credit in Cabrillo course corresponding to the grade received at the high school, credit by exam*.

• Cabrillo transcript is mailed to the student.
