Auburn Career Center and Great Lakes Truck Driving School have partnered to offer a 600 hour truck driver program with a truck driving externship.

All students in this program will be provided with your company information at the beginning of training.

The 600 hour training program includes:
• CDL Class A Training (classroom, yard, road)• OSHA 10 Hour• Rig Pass / SafeLandUSA• Preventative Maintenance• Externship

Students will participate in a truck driving externship as the last component of training.
The externship must include at least 40 hours of training each week and last 7 weeks.

Student applicants will have:
• A current Class A CDL• Endorsements required by the company• A current DOT Physical Medical Exam• Passed a DOT Drug Screen

Students will be provided with a list of participating externship companies and details of the positions.
Externships can be paid or unpaid at the discretion of the hiring company.

The student will follow your company application requirements.
If accepted for hire, the extern can follow your regular hiring process.

Once you have accepted the extern, we will send you a one page evaluation form.

Evaluate the student on the same 12 topics weekly
Send the evaluation by e-mail or fax to Great Lakes TDS at the end of the week (Fri – Sun)

Week 7: Evaluate on the 12 topics.
Then, check pass or fail for the 7 week externship at the bottom and send it back to us .

Feel free to hire the student as an employee after their externship period!
