Commercial Analysis What you don’t usually notice.

Overview Commercials began in 1941 as away for organization to advertize their business and spread information. Organizations make deals with various networks and pay them to have their ads run from one time a day to during every commercial break.
Data Collected
Total Commercials Broadcasted: approximately 45/ hour
TV Show 3: Gossip GirlNetwork: CW
Time of Day: 8:00 PMRuntime: 60 Min.
Notes:-> There were no cell phone
advertisements on ABC Family
-> The CW was the only station that showed local commercials
-> TBS showed the most food commercials out of all 3 stations
Television now is not just used to transmit
information but to sell ideas and subconsciously get into the minds of the viewers to make them believe they need the advertised products.
A 30 second commercial
played during the Super Bowl
costs $2.7 million.
