Teddi Benson is joining us from North Carolina, and will be an adjunct lecturer for the Special Education program. Teddi is a National Board Certified Teacher with experience teaching general education and special education, ages preschool to adult. She has also taught a classroom for homeless children and was lead teacher/administrator in a developmental preschool. She continues to work with the Ellbogen Foundation to help prepare Wyoming teachers for National Certification.

College of Education

Joshua Michael Cohen received his Ph.D. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado in 2015. Prior to earning his Ph.D., Dr. Cohen received bachelors and master’s degrees in English literature. In his personal time, he enjoys fly-fishing, hiking, baseball, hockey, watching movies, and spending time with his 10-year old daughter Taelor.

Kara Duggan joined the College of Education as the Office Associate for the Wyoming School-University Partnership this May. Before coming to the Partnership, Kara worked over in the LeaRN program. Kara is from Fort Collins, Colorado. She came to the University of Wyoming to study English, and in December 2013 she received a B.A. in English with minors in both Creative Writing and Professional Writing. In her spare time, Kara enjoys crafting, listening to music, and going back to Colorado to see family.

Erin Harmeyer, Ph.D. Erin recently completed her Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Missouri. A native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Erin completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Missouri and her M.Ed. at the University of Missouri system while teaching 2nd and 5th grade in the Kansas City public schools. When not working she enjoys spending time with family, reading, training for and competing in long distance races, and taking her two retired greyhounds for long walks.

Lay-nah Blue Morris-Howe earned her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Wyoming in 2011. She returned again to UW in the fall of 2014 as an assistant lecturer in Professional Studies' Counseling program. Lay-nah maintains a clinical private practice in the Laramie community as well. Lay-nah has two sons and her husband, Quincy, is an assistant Track & Field coach at UW.

Joanie James received her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wyoming in 2007. Joanie has earned National Board Teacher Certification and has been honored with many teaching awards including the Arch Coal Teacher of the Year Award, The Gilder-Lehrmann History Teacher of the Year Award, The Wyoming Historical Society Teacher of the Year Award, The Albany County Education Association Teacher of the Year Award, and the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching Award. Joanie and her husband, Tom, adopted three children and their challenges at the ages of 11, 13, and 15. They now enjoy their four grandchildren.

Tiffany Kautzsch graduated in May 2015 from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in International Relations. Her work experiences include concrete construction laborer, medical courier/radiology tech aide, and civilian contract logistics manager for Operation Enduring Freedom in Bagram, Afghanistan. Tiffany also spent a year teaching and conducting humanitarian community outreaches in Davao, Philippines.

Todd Reynolds is an assistant lecturer in the Department of Secondary Education, teaching secondary English Language Arts methods and elementary literacy methods, and supervising and coaching student teachers. Dr. Reynolds spent ten years teaching high school English in Wyoming and Colorado public schools. He also coached elementary literacy and taught 5th grade. He is currently in his fourth year of teaching English Language Arts methods at UW.

Erin Stoesz is the new coordinator of the Wyoming State Science Fair. She received a B.S. in Geology and a B.A. in Celtic Studies, 2001 from UW and is thrilled to be returning to work at her alma matter after obtaining a M.S degree in Geology at Indiana University.

Joslyn White is a Wyoming native, with deep roots in Sublette County in ranching. She loves the mountains and big game, but has also spent a great deal of time in Cherry County, Nebraska and loves those Sandhills. She has been raising cow bred quarter horses for 40 years, and usually has at least one dog in tow and a few barn kitties. She graduated from the University of Wyoming with a BS in Business. Her husband , both of their sons, and a daughter- in- law have all received degrees from the University of Wyoming.

• Reaching out to the State of Wyoming, its communities, and its schools remains the paramount focus of the College of Education.

• Professional development for in-service teachers is a major need for the State of Wyoming. The College of Education plays a pivotal role in this effort.

• Enhancing and growing the Literacy Research Center and Clinic’s reach in the College and State.
