Madrid, March 29th, 2011 Presentation of Cognolab, first event in a quarterly series annualy. Where: MedialabPrado, at 19h #open The topic of discussion on the 29th will touch upon the experts experience on how they learn/have learned in a world that is digital. How they learnes in your field everyday. Ten minutes talk by expert invited, and then questions and answers from the public. Three experts, and some special surprises expected. Alfonso Bustos, Cris Ramon and Chris Tonge @cristonge. We have invited two senior especialists and a junior, interested, as we are on what the youth think. In the audience: we will have people currently working (non for profit) in specific fields within the LABs of Cognolab, devoted to fields such as sustainability, biotech, the future of retail, disabilities2.0... LAbs work on line, mainly through twitter, and in their free time- How do they work? Sharing their knowlegde and then meeting once a month under the direction of @jeancharles, the Labs director. In the audience, we will have academics interested in changes in the way we learn in todays world, students, experts interested in the matter, learners, small firms, all sharing the values of #sharism... The sessions are held at MediaLabPrado, just by Museo del Prado and Atocha AVE Station: http://medialab-prado.es

How … comes the idea of Cognolab?
Millan Berzosa and Olga Gil were working together for a client in april 2010, Banco Santander Universidades, when they had the idea to create an open forum, not only linked to academia. The idea was to turn it into an #open space for knowledge and learning with relevant people involved.
People such as @piscitelli has inspired us. And others such us @MadanRao @LRainiee @stevehargadon or
@zephoria are the first ones informed about the initiative. In Spain we count on @alafuente @dreig and @jfreire
among others… and growing
Non for profit work developed before together with Acens and Fundacion Telefonica made it possible to have funds right from
the start. We are very grateful to our first supporters :-)

What? This is a non profit initiative, hosting four events along the year with top global especialists; building and nurturing networks along a focus line: how do we learn in a digital world. Cognolab is an open forum for digital culture, learning and knowledge. It is also a meeting point. We also expect it would be a great opportunity to build trust and a long collaboration with hosts, attendants, participants, followers, fans, supporters and sponsors.
This is an entrepreneurial adventure starting in autumn 2010. This is also a laboratory of knowledge where we reflect on the changes that technology is generating in a world that is
already digital.

How?
Sharing knowledge openly, to think and understand how we learn in a world that is already digital. To understand how trends are changing, and the new way we perceive and see the world we live in. We are interested in the general public, teachers, students, experts, companies with the practical purpose of innovating and who want to be more competent. We want to open up the debate; Make networks and above all, propose solutions.
In 2011 we are focusing on: Transmedia; Mobiles, Games and Learning; Collaborative Networks --informal labs, firms and artisans; and Empowering through 2.0 for enterpreneurship

At Medialab-Prado, Madrid (http://medialab-prado.es)
Medialab-Prado is an international space oriented to the production, research, and broadcasting of digital culture. It is a space where art, science, technology and society merge
– a space where workshops, seminars, debates, meetings, concerts.... take place. Streaming is available for quarterly events so that #influence and #global participation are
possible. All the sessions are recorded and are openly available and free.

Influence
We are interested in empowering the youth. In this regard, we will have event amplifiers, willing to participate highlighting what they think is of outmost interest at each gathering, using Twitter and other online tools.
Those who stand out will be referred via LinkedIn, and their profiles will be commented in the blog.
We will have a prize for the Best Amplifier of the Year. And also, we will reward the most original blog entry about the meetings and #Labs.
