• Framed to the left or right of centre.

• Interviewee is on a stationary chair.

• Camera is on a mount of tripod.

• The rule of thirds is used – eye line is 1/3 of the way down the screen.

• Medium close up is the most common shot.

• Close up, big close up and medium long shot are sometimes used.

• Interviewees do not look at the camera.

• Narrow depth of field

• Names and relevance to the topic appears on screen.

• Graphics appear on the bottom left or right of the sceen.

•Title font is carefully chosen.

• Questions are edited out.

• Cutaways used to break up interviews.

• Achieve material is used. Examples of this are personal photos, clips from films, screenplays and books.

• Mise - en -sen in interviews meant that the objects in the back relate to the topic.

• Non diegetic sound is sometimes used.
