Slavery was one of the five causes of the Civil War.

The Abolitionist were a group in the north that apposed slavery.

The South had a bigger population of people and were known for their slave plantations

With his election, even though it wasn’t his main concern, President Lincoln passed the Emaciation Proclamation which freed all of the slaves.

The south had no other choice then to leave the union and unfortunately kick start the Civil War.
