Structured External Assignment (SEA): Language Activity Implementation and Analysis (Due Week 14;

50%):

Candidates will videotape themselves as they create and implement six (6) interactive language activities that address the four (4) domains of language learning (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) and also address socially and culturally appropriate ways to use the English language.  Each lesson is taught twice!

Video Tapes are provided to support the DPAS Components. Activities should be based upon an informal assessment of students’ linguistic

proficiency levels, student centered, and designed for diverse learners’ unique needs related to literacy development utilizing various materials and addressing appropriate content and language standards

The teacher candidate will write self reflections for each activity which include the effectiveness of instructional decisions for the learner, an analysis of Johnson’s Eight Categories of Instructional Consideration, and multiple instructional implications.

SEA VIDEOTAPES

Candidates will identify and annotate an example of managing student behavior and establishing a culture of learning. Students will also identify and annotate questioning and discussion techniques used during instruction.
