Carlingford

Carlingford, a Sydney suburb, is approximately 22 kilometres from the central business district. Originally called Mobbs Hill after William Mobbs (an ex-convict), it was renamed in 1886. It was possibly named in recognition of Lord Carlingford, a statesman from Victorian times, or it may have been named after the town of Carlingford in Ireland.

Located north-west of Sydney, Carlingford is surrounded by West Pennant Hills, Epping, Telopea and North Parramatta, amongst others. The suburb is an appealing residential area that is convenient to the city. Many commuters travel by bus or train to the CBD.
