Career and Industry Connections “Industry is Fortune’s Right Hand, and Frugality its left” – John Ray, a Famous Plant
Biologist said that years ago. Fortunately, it has been proved truthful till now. The ups &
downs in Industry have always been there, since the concept of business started. No one
remembers, when was the 1st time man started understanding business & its terms, but
there has been subsequent development ever since.
Like the term says,” Bullishness & Bearishness are Left & right of any industry”. Bullishness
i.e. The Ups & Bearishness i.e. The Downs, were present, will be present & always be there
irrespective of how many new industries enters or how many exits. But, due to these
bullishness & bearishness, people working in these industries also faces the ups & downs.
They do appreciate the ups, but the downs are always painful. Usually people lose jobs or
their careers, when a bearish market comes up. It doesn’t matters whether the person is
directly connected or indirectly to the bearish facing industry, but if the industry is down,
they do lose their jobs or their money.
These things confuse our decision to start looking & considering for job in a particular
industry. After Independence, the Retail Business & Export-Import connected to agriculture
industry was on a boom. Then came the bullishness of manufacturing industry of chemicals,
automobiles, etc. & now there is a boom period of IT & E-Commerce industry linked up with
M-Commerce & T-Commerce. Sure there have been a few predictions of future, but there is
no certainty that which industry will reach the sky & which one will crash. In these
circumstances, it’s the new jobs, which are vacant are affected. Because people either don’t
come or if they do then they don’t stay. Main reasons are education background, Location
preference, Position preference, etc.
Usually at these times, all people having industry jobs face difficulties, but mainly
complications in finding jobs are faced by fresher candidates. Experienced people can find
some or the other way to get a life going on, but fresher candidates, who haven’t even
started their career, faces the wall in getting a job. Especially candidates having specific
qualification & looking for industry specific jobs like Chemical engineer looking for Chemical
industry Jobs or Automobile Engineer looking for Automobile Industry Jobs or any other
engineer looking for industry specific jobs for freshers, these people usually faces problems
in finding jobs for freshers.
But, there are few job portals which are helping these companies & recruiters to fill this gap
in. “Firstnaukri.com”, “Campusrecruit.in”, Etc. are few of those job portals who are helping,
by targeting only fresher candidates. They also tell their client to post only those vacancies
which can be fulfilled by freshers.
