2. We used the diamond 9 strategy for the Global Citizens statements. Many of us had different opinions but a lot of us put I think I can change things in the world 3. After all of our introduction activities we decided we wanted to look at Food and Trade in more detail. We tried out some of the activities and learned a lot about ourselves 4. We loved the Sharing the Chocolate story. The focus was on fairness and we had great debates about who 5. We can make a change! After all of our work we decided that we can make a change to things in the world, even if it is only a little change. So we set about thinking what we could do and who could help us. 6. We worked in groups to think about the some important questions to help us. We each had a role to play in the What can I change? challenge. One person was the Teacher, one was the Scribe, another was the Time keeper and then there was the Spokesperson. 7. We worked really well togethermo st of the time! 8. The Spokespersons all did a very good job of feeding back and explaining the thoughts of their 9. We had some good ideas about what we can change about the food issue in Barrow, the U.K. and the World. It wasnt easy but it really made us think! 10. Who can help us? We used the Power and People exercise to look at who can help us with our plans on taking action. We worked out that there were actually a lot of people out there who can take part and help us! 11. We placed the names of people in order of who would help us the most to those who we would get least help from. 12. So, we got started on our big plan for Taking Action 13. We decided to promote Fairtrade goods Working in groups, we thought about how to do this. We designed our own Fairtrade snack choosing which ingredients we would like to use. 14. After designing the Fairtrade product we designed the packaging it would come in carefully. Everyone gave their snack a unique name, such as, Crunchy Munchy or Rumbles. 15. On the packaging we made sure that we included: The name Fairtrade logo Image Adjectives to describe it 16. Making our Fairtrade snacks 17. Many snacks were made with delicious Fairtrade ingredients! 18. Our completed Fairtrade snacks 19. Our idea to raise awareness of Fairtrade products was to have a Fairtrade Afternoon Tea Party. We invited parents, families and Governors to our Fairtrade event in the hope that we could show them the importance of buying Fairtrade goods. 20. Our Fairtrade Tea Party 21. We were very busy! 22.
