1.0 Introduction to case study

The case study we chose is a two and a half storey terrace house. It is located in Kajang. It

is a project called Nadayu 92, and is designed by KSKA Arkitek Sdn. Bhd.

The built up area of a single unit of the type A bungalow is approximately 2,637-2917 sq.

ft. Columns and beams are assembled in moment resisting frames which is a common

practice in residential design. In order to define the location of each columns in the

building, we have studied and analyzed the spaces through plans.

4.0 Conclusion

Through this project, we have gained knowledge on structural theory and basic structural

proposal. By going through the structural appraisal process, we were able to explore and

understand the concept of structural analysis which allowed us to identify the structural

components.

We have learnt about how load is transferred in a structural system and calculate the load

through mathematical analysis. We learnt about the importance of beams and columns

dimension when designing as this will greatly affect the integrity of the structure, safety

and aesthetic-wise.

We are grateful for the experience gained in this project and will apply this our future

study and work in the future.
