Shared values – WHAT EVERYONE BELIEVES
We expect that throughout the process of involving children and young people, there are clear shared values where everyone is respected and are treated equally with honesty, openness and sharing of information.
Strategy –THE PLAN
We expect a strategy for the active involvement of children and young people that is simple, easy to understand, that works for the children and young people involved, is exciting and challenging and is young people friendly.
Structures – THE BUILDING
We expect that there should be effective structures that work, which are useful, reliable and simple and include a wide range of children and young people
Systems – THE MACHINERY
We expect systems that work in a strong and reliable way, which uses technology in a user friendly way.
Staff – THE WORKERS WHO BUILD
We would expect a member of staff that is good at their job and is hard working, but also is understanding, trusting and extremely friendly. They must also be fair and not patronising.
Skills and knowledge – OURS and THE WORKERS’ SKILLS
We expect that there should be skills that are varied and useful, including teamwork and that people’s skills can be used and improved, including those of children and young people.
Style of leadership – THE BOSS
We expect that there should be a simple, fair, friendly style of leadership. It should not have just one leader and everyone should be involved in all decisions.
